Narrative

As I sipped my coffee, I couldn't help, but think,' Lorelai Gilmore would love this coffee'. I could see her across the diner. She sat at her normal table with Rory, and they chatted away about frivolous things.

Luke has just spotted Lorelai and was headed to her table to pour her her third cup of coffee for the morning.

Just as the coffee was flowing from the pot to her cup, my food arrived in front of me. The smell of pancakes took me back to Lorelai and Rory sitting in the diner. Luke was having an off-week and had burnt Rory's pancakes. Lorelai jumped out of her seat and followed Luke behind the counter. Luke turned and scowled at Lorelai just as the waitress brought me my bill. Seeing the waitress got me thinking about how Lane used to be a waitress at Luke's.

Description

Lorelai could smell the coffee as she entered the diner. The hustle and bustle of the customers kept Luke busy, but he finally noticed Lorelai and made his way to her table with a piping hot cup of coffee. Her eyes light up as he poured the steaming coffee into her empty mug. As she took her first sip, she knew her morning had begun.

Lorelai rifled through her purse to find some cash as she trudged up to the counter. She tossed Luke some crumpled up dollars bills and turned to leave the diner.

When Lorelai pushed the door open, the rush of the autumn breeze embraced her skin. Goose bumps went shot up her spine as she spotted a familiar face. Lorelai threw her arms around Rory and the two shared a warm, and much needed hug.

Lorelai and her daughter walked in sync down the hard, stone paved roads as the crisp, cool air played with their hair from under their comfy, yarn beanies.
